Meet The Team

Val Mathew

General Manager

Val joined The Red House in the year 2012 and has been since leading its day to day operations. A well-qualified nursing home manager endorsed by the Care Quality Commission, she inspires and leads the home's diligent team to deliver the exceptional care to our residents. Drawing on her unique wealth of experience from Medical and Surgical Nursing and managing health care teams across various disciplines spanning 18 years, she ensures that each of our residents is provided excellent nursing and residential care. Caring with humanity and kindness runs in her blood, and an internationally trained nurse manager, she is always willing to go that extra mile to afford the special feel to our residents that they live the best part of their lives here. Her service is available 24/7, especially as she lives with her family within the local community.

Tricia Lloyd

Administrator

Tricia is an experienced Administrator helping with the daily clerical running of the home and giving administrative support to the managers on a daily basis. She enjoys getting to know the residents and their relatives, whilst maintaining professionalism and a thorough approach to all administrative duties. She is always happy to help.

Helen Burt

Catering Manager/Chef

Helen has been the Chef/Catering Manager at The Red House for over 6 years, she is extremely flexible and caters for all dietary requirements. Helen is well known for producing sumptuous spreads and delicious teas for The Red House parties. She is very popular with the residents, having regular meetings to discuss their likes and dislikes and any changes they would like made to the menus.

Sue Loxley

Head Housekeeper

Sue has worked at The Red House since 2003. She oversees her department and keeps it running effectively. Sue really enjoys her work and takes pleasure in getting to know all the residents.

Szidi Sinka

Activities Coordinator

Our Activities Co-Ordinator generates a lively and homely atmosphere amongst our residents. Through her innovative ideas implemented in the daily activities programme that enhances the well-being of our service users, she brings lots of smiles and joy to our residents’s daily lives. Szidi has good communication skills and working relationship with our service users and their families. She has got a caring nature and a passion for supporting elderly people in living as independently as possible. With a keen eye on detail and continuously thinking ‘outside the box’ Szidi plans, organises and delivers person-centred activities, monthly Themed days related to hobbies or past memories of our service users, outings, various mental stimulation approaches, arts and crafts, group and one-to-one sessions. With her enthusiasm, personal touch and devotement Szidi provides a Homely feeling for our service users.

Stuart Loxley

Maintenance

Stuart joined the team in February 2015. He is responsible for maintaining the building and grounds, which he does to a very high standard and in a timely manner. He is a friendly member of staff who always has time to talk with our residents, family and friends and treats them all with the utmost respect.
