Enjoying music and bringing back memories.

Silent Disco

11 August 2019

Residents enjoyed a silent disco by listening to music through wireless headphones, this enables you to tailor the music and volume to every individual's needs, maybe enjoying their favourite songs from yesteryear.  Music can form a part of Reminiscence Therapy bringing back memories of what they were doing when a certain song was popular.

The link between music and memory is particularly strong because it has the ability to activate large areas of the brain, including the auditory, motor and emotional regions, which is why this is a fantastic activity especially for people living with dementia or have been affected by a stroke.
