Reading is good for your health and wellbeing.

We spent an afternoon going through the books in our library. We have so many varieties to choose from, something for everyone. Reading can have many health benefits, not only to improve literacy but it increases our emotional intelligence as we understand a range of perspectives and motivations. There is evidence that mental stimulation is one of the factors that can delay the onset of dementia and reading is one activity that can help to keep the brain active. Research also suggests that reading for 30 minutes a week increases health and wellbeing. Reading for pleasure has been found to improve our confidence and self-esteem. It can also aid our sleep and reduce feelings of loneliness. Which book will you pick up next?
