An afternoon of Scottish Dancing

Burns Night

25 January 2019

We were lucky to have a Scottish dance display for our Burns Night celebration.  One of our relatives, Rita, enlightened us with the names of the dances and some interesting information about each of them. Like 'The Reel of the 51st Highland Division' was original danced by prisoners in war camp with 5 couples of man, now done with 3 mixed couples.  They also performed The First Rain of Spring, Singing Sands, Macdonald of the Isles and finished with Gay Gordons dance, when some of our residents and staff joined in.
