An Unusual Musical Instrument

Residents, friends and relatives were treated to a very interesting talk on "The Dulcimer".  One of the residents described the dulcimer as a flat string instrument with complicated stringing which is played with different hammers to give varying tones.  The dulcimer has a pleasant tone similar to a guitar but has a greater variety of strings. He said they heard a selection of melodies, classical pieces and songs.  It was nice to listen to, an unusual instrument and he would be happy if another visit was arranged in the future.
